Band

Formation

It is still a miracle when we recalled how 10th Kuala Lumpur Band was formed. Definitely our Lord Jesus Christ is the Mastermind behind it. We want to glorify and thank God that He never fail to provide our needs and as we present our requests to Him, He never fail to meet them. The year was..... 2001....indeed a memorable event as Officers Council gather round to pray and present our request to the Lord for a Brass Band. We managed to raise an amount of more than RM100,000 to kick-start our Brass Band. With that, we were able to hire a Bandmaster, Mr Sunny Hoh who has been with us from beginning right till today.
Our first band practice was held after parade on the 14th of July 2001. Mr Sunny divided the band into two sections being Brass Wind and Percussion. The two sections usually practice independently for about an hour and then spend the rest of the time practicing together. In year 2002, we had also included the Juniors in the Band. In this particular year, we also manage to raise RM9,000 within 15 minutes for the purchase of Tuba. All glory goes to God who has enable us to have all these beautiful instruments.
In Year 2005, we raise another RM50,000 and Sri Sempurna's PTA donated 2 trombones and 2 trumpets towards our Band. We want to thank God for His endless provisions towards our Band.

Performances

We have on yearly basis perfomed for the Sri Sempuna's Sports Day, Speech and Prize Giving Day and Homeschooler's Sports Day as well. In year 2006, we took part in the National Band Competition (PESTA 2006) and emerged 4th. We take pride in this as all the members have really put in great effort. Besides that, we have on several occasions been invited to perform for Corporate functions as well. Way to go 10th KL!

Year 2008

We look forward to this year as we are aiming to raise fund to start a Junior Band. Once again, we are going to see God's provision and His hand of Guidance upon. The Fund Raising will be done in conjunction with our 10th Anniversary Celebration 0n 10th May 2008.
